With Mother’s Day quickly approaching on the 19th March, many people will be out searching for the perfect gift. However as the cost of living rises, we were interested in finding out how much people were likely to spend on a gift for Mother’s day. Trueology conducted a survey with a sample of the UK population aged between 18 to 34 comparing the average expenditure on a gift of different demographic segments.

The highest proportion of the sample spend between £16 to £21 (21%). However, this varied when segmenting by gender. With Females overall spending higher than Males.
When exploring different age groups, the older the segment the more they tended to spend on a gift. 14% of 18 to 24 year olds spent over £50 compared to 26% of 25-34 year olds.
